Itinerary

Day 1 - October 20
Departure to Rome - Overnight flight to Rome Airport (FCO)

Day 2 - October 21
Rome - Upon arrival, meet your Tour Director. Tonight visit Trevi Fountian followed by Welcome Neapolitan Pizza Party. (D)

Day 3 - October 22
Rome - Our morning included city tour will be a visit of the Vatican Museums, the Gallery of the Tapestries before arriving in the famous Sistine Chapel with its magnificent fresco of the Last Judgement by Michelangelo. Continue to visit St. Peter's Basilica to admire one of Michelangelo's works of art, La Pieta. Time for lunch in a restaurant. Then across the Tiber to admire Piazza Venezia. Roman Forum and the Coliseum. Then we visit St. Peter in Chains housing the restored and famous Moses and the Catacombs of San Sebastian. Tonight why not try a local "trettoria"? (BB, L)

Day 4 - October 23
Rome - After breakfast we attend the canonization of Alberto Hurtado held in San Peter Square. The rest of the day at leisure or perhaps sign up for an excursion to Tivoli Gardens to visit this splendid Villa d'Este dated 16th century with hundred of fountians followed by a dinner party. (BB)

Day 5 - October 24
Rome - Assisi - Florence - We drive through the Umbrian Hills, past Orte and Perugia to the mystic town of Assisi. A local guide shows us St. Francis town with St. Clair church as well as the Franciscan Basilicas with Giotto's and Cimabue frescos. Lunches on your own then we pass pleasant hills and Lake Trasimeno before heading to the Renaissance sity of Florence. Dinner tonight at our hotel. (BB, D)

Day 6 - October 25
Florence - Our morning will start by driving up to Michelangelo's Terrace to admire Florence and the Arno River and to visit San Miniato Church. Then, a guided tour shows the Cathedral, of St. Mary of the Flowers, the Baptistery, Signoria Square and Santa Croce the largest Franciscan church with its monumental tombs of the greatest Italian artist. Rest of the day dedicated to shop for leather and gold items or visit other museums. Evening at leisure. (BB)

Day 7 - October 26
Florence - Verona - Venice - This morning we travel over the Apennine Mountians and stop at Verona. We will delight in seeing Juliet's balcony and the Arena of Verona, one of the most preserved in Europe. Then a short drive to Venice area. After hotel check-in, dinner is served at a local restaurant. Tonight, why not take an optional tour to see the romantic and glittering city by night? (BB, D)

Day 8 - October 27
Venice - After breakfast we embark a private boat for a canal cruise to St. Mark's Square viewing the Giudecca Canal, San Mark Basilica and square, Bridge of Sighs and Doges' Palace, one of the greatest Byzantine Palace of Italy. Next a visit to a glass blowing factory. Time free to enjoy strolling around the small streets or perhaps take a trip to fisherman Burano Island or enjoy a gondola ride? Tonight a farewell dinner will be served at a typical local restaurant. (BB D)

Day 9 - October 28
Venice - USA - After breakfast, time to say "Arrivederci Italy" as you are transferred to Venice Airport (VCE) for your return flight. (BB)
